Dispatch 2.0HDI smokes when cold

Post by Stevedale5 »

Hi, I have a problem with a Citroen Dispatch 2.0 hdi on a 2009 when starting the engine creates a lot of blue smoke until it is warmed up and then disappears.
Is this a common problem any ideas what causing it and any cures. Thanks.
Regards Stevedale

This will probably be a glow plug that is not working!! so the smoke u see is unburnt diesel from the cylinder that has no heat from the heater/glow plug! if it runs a bit lumpy or on three cylinders when cold this would confirm this!! mine is just like i described! but to change glow plugs is a pain on these vans! soon as its warm its ok! i have been running it like this for years!
