ABS and ESP/ASR fault after snow drifting

Post by Cutac »

Hey all!

I've got a 2006 96000 km C4 VTS with no mechanical faults up to date. Except I've managed to cause one. It's snowed here in Croatia and I've decided to take the old girl  out on a drifting session. And i did, 15-20 kilometers(25-30 minutes) of driving with ESP switched off, handbrake engaged/half engaged and not exceeding 45 km/h(mostly around 30). And then my ABS and ESP lights went on and ABS and ESP/ASR faulty messages appeared on the display. Since that I got home(1 km), turned it off and on again and errors stayed.
Could it be the sensors got confused or did I actually break something?

The lights may stay on until the car has been driven "properly" a few times - five times is usual.

It took 30 meters of driving to sort itself
All systems work!
