Does it or does it not ------------

Unread post by KennyW »

I need to confirm if my wife's C3 has a fuel filter or not.

Have checked citroen service and no fuel filter is shown under the car's chassis number ?

Chassis No CA5777440 for info.

Sometimes these are not easy to locate and not where you might expect them to be, what's the VIN Kenny, I can't check from the above.

Marc,

I've checked and under the chassis number of wife's C3 there is no fuel filter listed. VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] but if you d a generic check on C3's there 2 diagrams with and without in line fuel filter which is supposedly hiding under r/o/s wheel arch.

I'm just getting more confussed.

I have been informed the filter is built into the fuel pump within the petrol tank

Another reason why I wanted to have a check. It should be under the rear RH wheel arch as you say:
Kenny Fuiel Filter.PNG
You detach it from the clip at (a), then there are 2 click-fit unions at (2).

Well had a chance to check the C3 and I found a black plastic container/cartridge which has two plastic pipes running to its base. Its located on r/o/s.

I believe they are the supply pipes from fuel tank to filter and exit to injectors at front of car.

Black pipe with connector runs from tank to 'filter' and blue pipe moulded to outlet running to injectors.

Does anyone have the same type of filter and how do you change it ?

I think I've what this is 'CANISTER DEPOLLUTION ABSORBER' has this replaced the fuel filters on these cars.

Further to the above it would appear this C3 does not have an external fuel filter but this is within the tank itself .
