Computer help! Sorted.

Unread post by Gibbo2286 »

I've had the Citroen workshop stuff on my computer now for several year in a virtual machine set up, trying to get there this morning I get this pop up.
Any suggestions, it might be to do with the huge Windows 10 update I loaded over the weekend.

Probably is to do with Win 10 - I had to install a new version of Virtual Box on mine to get it to run after the Win 10 Creators edition update.

Blimey - you guys are a bit behind on your updates - either that or I am still enrolled in the Beta Testing!

Creators update was only offered (to me anyway) on Saturday and I loaded it straight away, took a bit over two hours to complete.

Yes, I’ve had that for ages now so must still be on beta!

I have had the Creators update a month or so now. One thing it does (which is a BLOODY nuisance) is to enable (in the gaming settings) Game BAR and Game DVR. These between them eat frame rates, which (in VR) can be uncomfortable when something should have a high frames per second rate.

Yesterday I spent a long time trying to remove an attempted update for 10 (which was sort of blocking other updates) think I have managed to remove it at last!

Sticking with 7 for now..

James are you still playing 'dangerous'?

Oh, DEFINITELY! The Thargons have made their presence felt (and I have rescued a few thousand from "The Oracle" space station).

Well, my Anaconda, The Helping Hand, normally has a cargo hold with 400T capacity. Currently she can haul 128T cargo and 128 passengers. If you want to help out at the damaged stations you can make 6 round trips an hour (or better, depending on your ship speed), which is earning me about 6Mcr per hour. You WILL need economy passenger cabins AND heat sinks (the stations are burning, and the docking halls are hellish, in heat, lighting and explosions). The rescue ship (at "The Oracle", at least) is 2Mm away, so around 10 seconds in Super Cruise. The rescue ships have repair and re-arming facilities, as well as support for the docking computer.
