Unread post by froggy »

Hi, my S2 Xantias' wiper wash has stopped working ! there is fluid in the bottle, not frozen. I am wondering could the motor be kaput ! it would be a first for me. or maybe the fuse? if it were the fuse, would anyone know which number fuse ? as I do not have a manual  any help would be great. cheers Terry.

Could well be that the delivery lines have frozen this time of year, have a listen see if the motor's making a noise, or try it again on a warmer day.

My project C5 had this problem, the pump had simply stuck from lack of use and a good clout set it going again but I replaced it with a new one from Ebay to be sure.
There was then the problem of split pipes behind the under wing shielding and the water dripping onto the road instead of getting to the jets.

Easily fixed but a bit of a pain to get at.

Hi Gibbo, I have a C5 to fix the inoperative washers on, did you access the pump via the wheelarch ?

I did but it may be different according to model, mine's an 06 2.0 litre hdi 138, the pump on this is under the RH front wing right at the front, a bit awkward to get at because the electric power steering stuff is in the way........but do-able. The piping trails over the top of the wheel arch protector and feeds through to the jets right at the back.

Thank you for that, I just need the snow to go away and I can explore under there.

When you change the pump, make sure you have a bucket underneath to catch what pours out the reservoir,
I picked up a pump from the local yard for a couple of quid, came from a 306 if memory serves,
