AX GTI wont start

AX GTI wont start

hi, my ax gti wont start I check fuel and spark and both are fine.

The engine hits back when getting started?

Seems to be another issue?

Timing perhaps.. What generates the sparks and how are they timed?

Have you actually got fuel being delivered by the injectors, or have you just confirmed that the pump is running and providing pressure to the fuel rail?

First thing I'd be checking would be that the crankshaft position sensor isn't dirty (it's usually magnetic), the wiring to it hasn't been damaged and that it's sitting at the correct distance from either the crankshaft pulley/flywheel (I don't know this engine so I can't specifically say where it is).

If that all checks out, I'd start wondering if the timing has gone to pot for some reason. When was the timing belt last changed?

Crankshaft sensor the signal wire in the engine loom hidden under all the plastics was broken fixed and now running.
