I have a C5 with a 1.6VTi (petrol) engine that mostly runs fine, but recently it has been producing a strange ticking sound when idle, as you can hear in the video added below. To me it sounds like it might be related to the hydraulic valve lifters or something of that nature, but I'm not that familiar with these engines, so I figured one of you guys would probably have a more educated opinion on this. I should note that I'm using the mfg recommended oil (TOTAL Quartz INEO ECS 5w30) which I changed a couple of months ago.

Probably something to do with VVT. I thought my Vtech Honda was noisy at tickover with 5K on clock. They all do that was answer.
