Back in a big Citroën
Hi all, after selling my XM some years ago, I'm back in a big hydrapneumatic Citroën, this time a C5 tourer 2.2 hdi 200 exclusive. I've only had the car 2 weeks, but I'm impressed so far with the quality and luxurious feel of the driving experience. Hopefully this continues and I don't need too much technical advice!

Re: Back in a big Citroën
Welcome back to the fold....
Great cars, I love mine.
A few things to prolong its life, all easy to do/get done
Note: When it is jacked up with 2 or more wheels raised, undo the LDS cap BEFORE jacking it up to prevent strut leaks and the LDS tank splitting.
Check: the rear anti-roll bar coating at the bushes, clean and paint if needed as the powder coating can splinter damaging the bushes (which can only be replaced with a new roll bar !)
Do: Clean and wax/protect the rear valve/sphere block and the suspension pipework/brackets which are not protected from the factory.
Do: Coat the steering rack pinion and the oil seal with large "globs" of waterproof grease to protect the seal cap from rusting (requires new/refurbished rack)

Re: Back in a big Citroën
Thanks for the heads up! Looking back through the service history, it recently had work done on a leaky strut.

Re: Back in a big Citroën
interesting on the strut......even the MoT intro page for C5's has a "Special Notes" page about the LDS cap now....
Oh yes, Auto Boxes love a 3-part oil change at 80-120k miles.
