Need help identifying a part name.

Unread post by bazzer123 »

Hi everyone this is my first post to this forum, have searched this forum but can't find the information that I need. I have a lds leak on my citroen c5 1.6 hdi 2005 I think I have identified the leak it looks like it's coming from where the pipes go into the metal union does anybody know if it's just the pipes that need replacing or do I need to replace the metal union. Sorry but can't find out the name of the metal union.

Thats not a union its just the pipe bracket. I think that’s the pipe that runs from the rack all the way up to the pump. Would need the VIN to confirm on Citroen service the exact part. If I remember right the last time i tried to get that pipe for a mk 1 it was no longer available from Citroen & was quite expensive too.

Coincidentally I have recently fallen foul of exactly this - lost all the LDS so no suspension or power steering.
The hydraulic pipe had rubbed against the metal bracket and worn through the coating and then corrosion did the rest.

Details here.

Don't do what I did and wait to see what happens :(

Think that's the wrong pic Marc - that's the PAS return. Item 2 in this Pic:

£99.62 from Citroen.... It's right in the way when you want to take the gearbox out - ended up disconnecting it on my Mate's when we did the clutch.

Thanks Richard, that’s what happens using Citroen Service on an iPad which I’ve just spent all day setting up!

I’ve deleted that post now, so as not to cause confusion to others. #-o
