'09 C5 electric seat
This is something trivial, but its bugging me! Up until recently, the electric seat operation on my C5 has been relatively silent, just the sound of the motor running. Yesterday, the driver's seat started to make a 'click' when any of the switches are operated - more specifically, its when whichever switch is released. Its presumably a relay that's clicking, but things like this irritate me no end - why is it now clicking, when it wasn't before?! The passenger seat is silent btw, and the driver's seat was taken out and replaced - same seat - recently.
Any ideas?

Re: '09 C5 electric seat
I think you have just answered your own question there Pete.
"The BSI informs the seat memory unit that the CAN+ is about to be switched off. When it receives this message, the memory unit must memorise the current position of the seat, even if a manual control is requested by the user."
So before the seat was removed, did you disconnect the battery? I'm wondering if it has lost the expected position information somewhere when it was re-fitted.
Have you tried a BSI reset since refitting the seat and secondly, try re-programming the seat memory positions again to see if that gets rid of the glitch.
If not then a diagnostic of the seat ECUs / test of the actuators might reveal if there are any faults. There are several control relays.

- Can I assume you have tried all the position controls and they are all working?
- Secondly, does the relay click noise happen on release of each and every position / direction control or only on release of some of the switches?

Re: '09 C5 electric seat
Hi Marc.
No, I didn't disconnect the battery. I'll try a BSI reset shortly. Its still got the memory positions stored on the 2 buttons, I'll reset them though. All the buttons work fine - the click is heard as each one is released, and it happens on all of them.....its the same click btw, from the same place under the seat.
Thanks,
Pete

Re: '09 C5 electric seat
I hear all manner of clicking when changing between the two stored positions and when operating the controls manually. I assumed this was normal because of the motor relays. I'm not sure why Citroen didn’t use MOSFETS for the switching though.

Re: '09 C5 electric seat
Well, I reset the 2 driver's seat memory positions - still clicking. I also did a BSI reset - still clicking! Ah well, more of a niggle than anything else....its just the not being able to answer'why' that's annoying!

I've checked and there is no 'learning procedure' on these, so nothing to be done on that front Pete.

Thanks Marc.
Further info - after releasing any switch, there's the click....then, 6 seconds later, there's another. I'd not noticed that before. How many connectors are there under the seat?

Well just for the seat frame itself... more motors than Silverstone.

Re: '09 C5 electric seat
Thanks again Marc. I should have added that I didn't remove, or replace, the seat, hence not knowing what's under there! I think I might lift it up tomorrow and have a look-see.

Be very careful and disconnect battery - wait 10 minutes before doing anything regarding the harnesses or unplugging - Airbags and pre-tensioner electrics!

There are no manuals for the seat - what are you referring to? - that's a parts diagram above for a C5 X7 not a DS5.

Re: '09 C5 electric seat
Hi Marc,
I have an issue with one of two small electric motors that control the movement of lumbar forwards and backwards. There are two identical motors on sides of panel number 18 (parts of seat - picture published above on November 15th, 2017). Is it possible to buy those motors separately or I have to buy whole part nr 18?
Has that motor its own OEM number and could be booked separately as the spare part? On the picture in attachment you see that motor on the left with white connector nest.
Thanks for advice,
JR

Hi
The part in your first picture above is the complete lumbar assembly and these motors are not available separately.
