LHM+ LHM Plus Compatibility with Xantias S1 and S2

Post by Rhothgar »

Mornin' all,

This might seem like a stupid question but I've searched the forum using (LHM+), (LHM Plus), (LHM++) and (LHM+Plus) and it only comes up with threads with LHM (or which there are many) or some posts with Plus in also but nothing with LHM+ so I cannot find if this question has ever been asked but I'm pretty sure it will have been.

LHM+ The new Total stuff that GSF sell in the translucent bottles.

Is it safe to use on older Citroens ie Xantia S1/S2?

It says it mineral fluid so I am guessing it is but I don't like guessing...

Yes it is safe to use in Xantias S1 and S2.

I've used Total LHM and Morris LHM for the last 13 years in mine. GSF sometimes didn't stock Total so I bought the Morris stuff.

There have been comments on the forum in the past to the effect that irrespective of the brand name on the bottle ALL LHM is made by Total.

Lhm has been around since the 1960s and I think lhm+ since the mid 90s, so is fine for Xantias, which were the last Citroens to use lhm(+) anyway.

Technically, it's difficult to use the search function as the plus sign is itself a modifier of the search function. I've tried a few different ways, using closed inverted commas "" etc, but I couldn't get what you want.

Funny. Can't say I'd ever seen LHM+ before this week.

LHM+ has been around for absolutely yonks (I mean like over a decade at leasr, surely?)
Have used the Morris stuff also and its fine.

Ref all LHM being made by total... Not sure that is correct? When halfords sold own brand LHM (dunno if they still do) it always looked much more translucent ('thinner') than the proper total stuff.
