[SOLVED] Help with P0611 error

Post by Nemo26 »

Hi,
I receantly found this code stored in my ecu, and it's impossible to erase. It's about injector correction. Now, before i start to dissasamble everything, I'm interested did somebody have had experience with this failure. Car works normaly, i didnt noticed something different. Codes are pulled out with diagbox, and the car is c5 x7 2.0. Hdi 140 hp fap.

" Electronic housing Fuel Injector - performance problem"

These are the possible causes I've looked up:
Faulty Fuel Injector Control Module
Fuel Injector Control Module harness is open or shorted
Fuel Injector Control Module circuit poor electrical connection

Have the injectors been changed lately?

No, i didn' t change injectors. Where did you found possible causes? Is it posible to search service box for code description? I didn't looked up electronic injection wiring, is it controled by ecu, or there is another modul?

I've checked some info and researched it a bit - looking at the P0611, this is listed as Permanent Fault: The engine has not encountered the conditions for resetting the the injector idle time (high rail pressure) - Other...

I can't help further with this personally, but has been associated with lost injector codes. Citroen have a procedure for testing this - but I don't have this. Sometimes this will come on with a service light and possibly another fault code.

It is certainly something I would get them to do as one outcome is the car going into 'Limp Home Mode' - with the engine put into degrade mode to protect it.

Just be aware that there can be many reasons why this code may exhibit - I would be reluctant to change anything until you are sure this is the cause. If you haven't changed the injectors, then I suspect this will not be the cause. If the injectors are reading the correct codes in Diagbox or are not showing any odd codes then I would leave this. It is not getting some information from somewhere and that is the problem. I suspect that the main dealer will be able to run additional tests from their server that may not be available in the clones. It might be worth paying for them to do a full diagnostic first before you start changing anything though.

I suspect knock sensor is deffect. Still waiting osciloscope to confirm this. One more thing. I receantly by accident reset fap filter counter. Now in diagbox there is procedure to input aditive soot value in grams. This value must be obtained from service box, and I'm unable to find it.

You shouldn't need to bother with that - normally topping up the additive and resetting the additive counter is all you need to do - in the Injection ECU - but if you have changed any other settings, then this may be triggering the error as it is in the same ECU.

After testing knock sensor with osciloscope high percentage of interruptions in signal. New sensor ordered, problem solved.

Which one of the areas to inspect turned out to be the fault?

None, accelerometar (knock sensor) was deffect, on osciloscope slow response. After replacing part, procedure for re-learnig pilot injection must be followed. This is described in document I have post earlier.
