Hi all
Just bought a 2011 c4 picasso and have noticed a few things.
Should j be able to hear the parking brake motor when it is applied?
There is a slight shudder when I lift my foot off accelerator is this normal?
What should be under the carpet in the boot?
Ok, so I've emailed you the specifications for your vehicle as it left the factory.
Your car wasn't supplied with the boot storage module and no rear blind - so not sure what else you were expecting to find. Have a look in your manual, as it may be an area for the seats to stow away - given that this and larger Grand Picasso both have multiple / modular seat configurations.
As for the electronic parking brake - you wouldn't hear this from the inside - but might hear it from the outside.
Can't help with the judder - it could be a multitude of things without further testing. Yours is a manual 6 speed, without EGS (thank God), so that eliminates anything to do with that system. I'm not going to list the possibilities as that would be pretty pointless without further checks / tests where really, the vehicle needs to be driven to help diagnose further.

Thanks a lot
There is a shallow hole under carpet in boot which isn't a huge problem just looks like there should be something there
I can hear the parking brake switching on and off quite loudly inside the car
I'm planning on having dealer have a look at it beginning of next Week
Every C4GP I've had, and I've had quite a few now , I've been able to hear the electric handbrake from inside the car, to the point whereby it would be disconcerting to not hear it.
Yep, on the MK1 the EPB motor is under the passenger seat, and it's quite noisy! The MK2 uses in-caliper motors AFAIK which would be quiet inside the car.
Not sure about the rear - is this a normal one, or a 7 seat? Presume normal, as the 7 seat one has seats under the boot floor!
A 'shudder' is a bit difficult to pin down. It shouldn't really do that.... 2011 is the change over from 16V to 8V engine - a shudder on the earlier engine might be the turbo starting to get into a trouble; a shudder on either could be the DMF starting to get into trouble...
It's not the GP just the normal one - but the seats do seam to have multiple configurations according to the manual even on the standard.
Obviously a different system to the X7 parking brake then - that is silent from the inside.

I know it's a different car, but my handbook says there is storage space provided under the boot carpet (among other places) so don't think anything's "missing".

How bad does a car need to be to think about rejecting it?
Depends on your definition of bad. So far you've mentioned a slight shudder on the accelerator, a noisy handbrake motor and slightly sticking brakes when reversing. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you have the conversation with the dealer about such horrendous faults on a six year old car!

Have to disagree with you there Marc. The groan from the motor is clearly heard inside the car on both my X7 and my wife's 308 MkII. Perhaps you run your radio on louder than we do?
