Saxo Wireless Removal?

Post by CitroJim »

How? I need to remove mine to attempt a repair upon it...

It is suffering a severe case of 'motorboating'...

The method of removal stumped both James Hellrazor and I yesterday

Thanks!
Jim

Yes, but we could not get the bottom latches to disengage.

The destructions merely state......

"The side fascia elements (1) (as per arrows)
The upper part of the fascia elements (1) by pulling towards oneself"

Perhaps........

Don't think I wasn't tempted, but Jim would like to see if he can fix the radio first! :D

You have to ensure that all four of the lugs / release pins are fully disengaged when pushing the radio release keys in. Just one stuck will cause a problem.

That's the one :)

I think I know the problem now... My removal tool is a little too narrow and both 'tines' were not going in at perfect right-angles :)

I shall 'modify' them and try again..

Thanks all :-D

Sorted it? I found using 4 thin screwdrivers was easier.

Have done it with 2 before!!

Its probably not worth trying to repair the standard unit, they're notorious for dying for no reason. Especially the CD decks.

Maybe so, but electronics are the sort of thing that Jim won't let die without a thorough investigation!

Exactly... I enjoy an electronics challenge!!!

Not removed it yet, maybe today if I get a moment...

I will report on wireless repairs as they happen.

If I can't fix it I have a cunning plan... It came to me in a flash of inspiration whilst driving the Saxo home from Somerset ;)

I always say I'm listening to the wireless, people think I have a fancy internet radio instead of an old Bush!
