Hello everyone!
A bit of self intro first.
Nearly a decade ago, I owned a 1971 D Super 5 which I very much loved.
Sadly, I had to separate from her due to an accident.
Since then, it has been my goal to drive a Xantia one day.
I finally purchased a 1.8i 5 speed and picked it up today.
Shortly after I got on the autobahn, the pipe and the catalytic converter severed, giving Xantia a nice F1 like engine sound.
Here is a symptom which I realised today, which I would like to ask you for your advice.
From idle to approx. 2500 RPM, the engine does not run very smoothly.
The engine is a bit shakey (back and forth), as if the fuel is fed intermittently.
I did realise also that the LHM level was low and needs topping up, which I will do tomorrow but as far as I know,
LHM level should not influence the engine run. Other fluids and spark plugs, filters will be replaced shortly.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Soon Sa

Re: A new member seeking advice regarding engine
Welcome to the forum.
The LHM level will not affect how the engine runs. It is difficult to know what is wrong without a better description, maybe one of the engine mounts is failing?

Re: A new member seeking advice regarding engine
The engine runs slightly jerky (shakes mildly in vertical direction) as I have mentioned.
I was wondering maybe something with the injection?
Or even the oxygen sensor?
