Hi All,
I've had an intermittent problem with loss of power when accelerating hard on an overtake.
Lexia check revealed p0100 which is intermittent fault with flowmeter - this is the problem will check MAF and clean terminals with electrical spray.
Additional problem found top brake light not working, open circuit. Will that need replacing or is it something else ?
These all relate to my C5 x 7 2010 plate

Brake light will be (i bet) a broken wire in the rubber tube by the top right hinge.

Thanks Alasdair, just like the Xantias.
My wash water for the rear wipers has no water so I can fix the problems at the same time.

Re: Diagnostic check with Fault codes
Well bought all the filters for her annual filter change and thought I would have quick look at the wiring problem for the top level brake light.
No wire !!!!!!! It would appear to have broken and disappeared into the pillar. Does anyone know the wiring route ?

Re: Diagnostic check with Fault codes
Well confirmed a broken wire but what a hassle to get the trim off.
Light has gone so unable to figure out where on the wiring loom the break is.

Re: Diagnostic check with Fault codes
I'll have a look Kenny... but I'll need your VIN
In the interim, does this help for general routing?:
2110 is the high level brake light. There should be a 2 pin black connector to the high level brake light with 2 wires - one (214) goes to the BSI and the earth (M2110), which is above the rear wheel arch somewhere - possibly behind the rear trim in that location, but MC60 is the earthing point for the this light.

Re: Diagnostic check with Fault codes
Marc,
I found those diagrams after I got my Sedre working,MC60 is located on the r/n/s wheel arch (there is another diagram which shows the location.)
Further work today and it is the earth wire which is broken live feed is fine. Just waiting on good weather !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and further supplies to fix it
Will need to remove trim on offside to fix wash pipe as it has broken. All this will have to wait until weekend likewise testing update of Diagbox on C3.

Re: Diagnostic check with Fault codes
Well my Maf fault has appeared again, Its like somebody throwing an anchor out of the car when accelerating the sudden loss of power is quite disconcerting.
I think it may require the MAF sensor to be changed.
Any thoughts,
Kenny
PS top brake light and water supply to rear wiper washer repaired.

Re: Diagnostic check with Fault codes
Seems your car doesn't like the airflow data it's seeing at the point you're gunning it and is downgrading engine performance to protect it. Do you have the snapshot data of when it occured, it may help pinpoint what it's upset about and give you an idea what to check?
