Isn't to do with Citroen but can you Help PLEASE

Hi I used to have a Mk2 Toyota MR2 a few years ago but had to get rid of it the car went back to the finance company who put it in an auction does anyone know how I would be able to trace the car and see if I could buy it back from the current owner that is if it hasn't been wrapped around a tree.

It used to be the case that for a fee you could send the registration number to DVLC at Swansea and find out the keeper details.
I'm unsure if this is still the case.
