(>02) 206 activating front fogs in PP2000

Post by ekjdm14 »

OK so I've just been having my first play with PP2000 on the 206, and successfully changed the headlamps to the twin-reflector type at last as well as activating running lights & rear screen wipe on selecting reverse etc. However one area I haven't has full success is in activating the front fogs.

The bumper/fogs have been fitted & plugged in for a while now & after going through the "install factory fog lamps" menu in the BSI we now get the telltale lamp in the instruments coming on when you twist the switch accordingly but still no power coming down to the fog lamp units themselves.

My first thought was maybe a missing fuse, but no mention of any separate fog lamp fuse in the handbook & all slots in the BSI and underbonnet box are populated.

What have I missed, is there another area I need to add/activate the front fogs in PP2000 or is there likely a hardware issue?

P.S. the only other area of PP I saw mention of fog lamps was in the remote locking section, but changing that to "previous key AND with foglamps" only stopped the remote locking from working :? (As soon as I set it back to "previous key AND without foglamps" the locking works again.) And why would the fogs be connected with the locking anyway?

Any suggestions appreciated as I'm still new to Diagbox so hoping I just missed something. Thanks

It's possible that the underbonnet fuse box doesn't support front fogs... Can you switch them on with the Lexia?

Actuator test is a no-go also. that is my thoughts now although the wiring was all present at the fogs, will try and compare one from a car with factory fogs soon and see if there's a difference. Thanks... :)

P.S. Am I right in thinking there's nothing in the way of "user accessible" relays in the underbonnet 'box is there? If I can possibly fit (even solder in) a relay it'd be preferable to replacing the whole thing when it's working fine.

If I get a chance I'll look at servicebox and see if there is a different part number. The box is not coded, so it's a straight swap from a scrapper if you can find the right one. I guess you might be able to solder in a relay, but getting it to work might be tough!

Ah cool, may be worth a go then if I notice one in a yard. They had no 206 last time we went though strangely, as they normally have 3 or 4 & I know for sure a neighbour recently had them collect his old car (that was a '99 LX though so useless to us had it even been there)

There only appear to be 2 - either Delphi or Siemens; no mention of fog lights - however, there is a separate relay box (not clear where it is) and also a fog light relay - possibly yours is just missing the relay? Possibly that depends on what is fitted to your car though - have a look here: http://fusesdiagram.com/peugeot/fuses-a ... t-206.html

Aha, thank you for the info. I'd imagine there will be a missing relay somewhere then as it was only a base model "Style" to start with. Will go a-hunting when I get the chance. Cheers.

I would be amazed if there was a difference in the BSM unit for with & without front fogs. You really need a wiring diagram for a similar model with front fogs to see if there is a wire present in the appropriate pin of the connector.
Ive fitted quite a few sets of original accessories front fogs to C2's, the wiring was always there & it just needed a quick programming with Lexia.

EDIT: a quick check on autodata shows pin 10 of the 16 pin green connector to be the output to the front fogs.

Thank you, I shall go out and have a quick look now for that wire/ voltage at it.
