Citroen C5 X7 Fault Code

I have a citroen c5 2009 some time last year i had wiper problems ,after getting the car back the fault code for the maf was coming on .i have a code reader which allows me to switch off the code ,but after knocking off the engine once the light stays off ,but if i knock it off a second time the light comes on again .i replaced maf with a second hand unit ,but the exact same problem again .yesterday i replaced it with a new unit this time ,yet again the same problem light on . There seems to be more power with the new unit this time ,but that pesky light is still glaring at me .a mechanic suggested that there may have been a wire damaged when the wiper motors were being word at ??? Any ideas [it is coming up as an intermittent fault] thanks in advance .I am reposting this in case anyone can shed any light on my Predicament ?

First thing we will need is the actual fault codes - without these, there's not much we can assist with. The second issue is that generic fault code readers can't provide the additional information that a Lexia Diagnostic can, so you may find that the fault code being returned from your code reader may by symptomatic of another fault. This is why getting a proper diagnostic is important, otherwise you can end up replacing parts unnecessarily.

You may be able to clean the MAF with carburettor cleaner and restore functionality - just spray it in onto the fine wires, don't be tempted to touch them with anything,

Thanks for he replies I have tried several code readers and hey all point to the MAF This is the message (Mass or volume Air Flow A Circuit Intermittent) Regarding cleaning the unit I have previously
