Hi, my 2010 X7 C5 is most of the time, but not always, not detecting its been opened as i noticed at night the interior lights don't always come on when that door is opened. So passenger gets out , closes door, i drive off then the seatbelt warnings go mad so i have to reach for the belt and pop it in or put up with bong bong bong bong.
I then last night started the car, but noticed the door bin light on the passenger door came on by its self then went off (the ones that should only light up when you put your hands in).
Anybody had this before? If so whats the fix?

In the door lock mechanism is a micro switch that detect if the door is locked and I think there is another micro switch for lights. At xantia was the same for the front doors. You have two options, replace the door lock mechanism or, if it possible, replace the micro switches.

Have you tried a BSI reset? It's free and would be my first attempt.
