Visa GTI
My first hot hatch way back in 1987 was a Citroen Visa GTI. Do any still exist i wonder? Same power as the Peugeot 205 GTI but lighter and cheaper.

Re: Visa GTI
The website howmanyleft.co.uk which scrapes data from DVLA says there are 5 GTis on the road and 14 SORNed, last year it was 4 and 15 so someone has put one back together. I had a 17RD, always envied the GTi but did lots of miles so economics played a part. If you drove with determination you could get the diesel to go remarkably quickly and surprise a lot of people.

Re: Visa GTI
Passed up a nice GTi recently 'cos I didn't think I could do it justice. Now one lucky person has 2!
The diesel suposedly became the 2nd fastest Visa, by accident (odd - as no one could accuse a C15D of being rapid), although that would mean it fell between the GT & GTi - perhaps for this comparison, the GT & GTi were lulped together!?

Re: Visa GTI
I don't remember the detail, but I think the 0-60 time for the diesel was pretty slow, but the 40-70 time in top (a useful measure of real world performance that some magazines published) was really really really quick. It was long before manufacturers arranged the gearing to do well in emission tests and ruined the driveability in the process.

Re: Visa GTI
I'm, not sure I ever knew (or, at least, retained) the detail but I was only comparing the diesel with other Visas. I rather regretted not being able to change the gearbox when the new clutch was fitted, as that's what really lets the C15 down - & there's no emissions test (in any scientific sense) for diesels - ironically!
