What are these?
These bits were under the seat of the C5 estate, anyone know what they are? I know about the screen but wonder if it's been used somewhere on the car or if it's just junk left in, like the riding boots, work shoes, coke bottles etc.

Re: What are these?
1st looks a bit like early iPod flat connector, to 3.5mm jack.
Last is a tablet light? pen, curiously cigar-lighter powered.
Middle one, lord knows.....yellow phono plug will be video in, and black one presumably dc power.
Bits for an in-car video player???

The first pic is an audio input lead for a Parrot handsfree kit that allows music to be played through the handsfree kit. It has ipod 30 pin, 3.5mm jack & USB inputs . It only needs to be connected if you plan on playing external audio.

I thought the red bit was Harry Potter's wand.

Nope, and Darth Vader has been wondering where he had left it when he put it on charge!

I've used a very similar monitor for a reversing camera. It might be worth checking the rear of the car.

I've got a virtually identical one and that's what it was intended for... It takes composite video and I used one to replace a failed monitor screen in an oscilloscope...

It looks a bit like a degaussing wand to me... You could get them years ago for demagnetising tape heads and the like...

Re: What are these?
It's been years since I gave anything a good degaussing. Think the last thing was an inconveniently magnetised screwdriver. Do remember "bulk erasers" for reels of magnetic tape - an early version of the Format command!

Re: What are these?
You can't beat a good degaussing Chris
We used to have them in the TV trade for degaussing early colour TV shadowmasks to rectify purity errors caused by stray magnetism that the inbuilt degauss coils could not clear...
Yes, dangerous things too. It was not so long ago I last used one to bulk erase a load of computer backup tapes... The buzz from it was impressive and no ferrous metals were permitted anywhere near it!
Or credit cards....
Happy days...

Re: What are these?
I was to mean to buy a proper degaussing coil so I used one from a scrap TV, put a lead and plug on it and pulled the plug out before the coil caught fire.

Seat-of-pants tv servicing! You both survived the EHT, so we should be thankful for that.

I think its the number of shocks I've had that has kept me alive.
