C5 2008 2.0i cooling issue
I have soma cooling system problem with my C5 MK3, 2.0i. Time to time temp just rises above normal, but when You start driving, it drops, just like in case, when radiator fan is not working. When I tested radiator fan in my garage, it worked as supposted - swithed on, cools egine down, turns off. How many temp sensors are on this engine? Any ideas?

I'm not really understanding you - you say the temperature is dropping when the car is being driven - well surely that is supposed to happen as the air from driving at speed is cooling the radiator and therefore the water?

Can you be more precise about how hot the engine gets?
This may be normal behavior for that engine type.

In dashboard temp gauge reaches maximum, STOP turns red, so thats how hot. The symptoms are the same, as if radiator fan wasn't working. Is that possible, that there are some electrical fault, that keeps radiator fan off, but just time to time?

You didn't mention the STOP light or Max. temp before!
Switch the Air Conditioning on - that should start the fan immediately. If you know the fan is working, then possible temperature sensor / water pump / air lock issue. Post up your VIN and I'll get the sensor info for you.

A/C isn't working now - R134a is leaking thru A/C radiator, I ordered new one, but it will be delivered on tuesday. VIN:VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].

Ok, so part 5 on the diagram - there are 2 water temperature sensors types for your car, depending on housing:
Part 1338 C1 Green
DIAM 25,4-LONG 53
FOR PLASTIC HOUSING
OR:
Part 1338 A7 Green
M12X150 2 VOIES (track?)
FOR ALUMINIUM HOUSING
Gasket (part 6 on the diagram):
Part 1338 G5
ENGINE WATER THERMOSTAT GASKET
DIAM19,6X26,9 EP3,65
In Case you need it
Water Temp Sensor Retaining Clip (part 7)
Part 1338 C3
Long 36

Ok, thanks a lot! I just tested my car, cooling system works fine, cooling fluid is at correct level, so I think it have to be temp. sensor error (most likely) or cooling fan wiring problem.

No problem - but more likely the sensor if the fan has been working - but obviously with the A/C not working until you get the condenser.
