Please could one of you nice chaps with access to Peugeot parts info please aid me by getting a part number and price for the part in the pic?
It's part of the engine breather system and attaches to the rear cam cover and connects to the plenum in the centre and the air intake on the right as you look at the pic.
It's an 07 plate 207 1.4 petrol 16v
VIN is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
It's a damn fragile piece of plastic. It snapped on me when I was trying to take it off on my daughter's 206. I was able fix it after a fashion using heat-shrink tubing.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

It's clearly made out of the most brittle substance known to man. It snapped in one place when I was removing the air filter box to replace the air filter.
We thought we'd tape it up but in the process of removing it to do so, it snapped in 2 further places despite taking great care not to damage it further.
I can partly answer my own question now - I don't know what it is called or a part number, but I do know that it costs £36 for a new one from Peugeot..
I would advise that the part seems to be made of fragilaspharkium. I was there when it broke, and it would not surprise me if it was designed to fail. There was virtually no give in it, considering that it HAS to move when you replace the air filter.
Jim, when you DO have to change the air filter we found it easier to take the large seal off the manifold and put it into place on the filter box than to get the filter box over it. Every time we tried to fit the box over the seal it would ruck up. However, when I took a look at the filter box I could see that the seal would fit into place, and would not (due to the design of the box) get pushed in further.

That's a very good description of it James
Following your experiences on my own, I'm amazed mine remains, for the time being, in one piece... You're right, it's a terrible bit of design and totally unnecessarily so...
Thanks for the tip I'll remember that next time I service mine...
All fitted and working, and after the customary 5 restarts, the EML has gone off and it's running better than it was before the pipe broke. I suspect, as James noted at the time it might have a had a few leaks in it.
No rattles now it's got new drop links either. New tyres tomorrow.
