Just incredible.

My input, put a c3 wrc badge on the Activa 2 and sell it.

As one of the comments says, it needs to be a big BHP, 4WD, high performance vehicle as the Focus RS, Impreza and Mitsubishi Evo/Lancer were before it, otherwise the WRC link is shaky to say the least, much like the marketing guff C4 Loeb..

Actually having thought about it for a few minutes I think Citroen should get the Rallycross 1600cc production rulebook and build a competitive car. One thats just road legal, enough to drive to the event if you're mad. It should come with road wheels and race wheels so you can be in a production car with proper rally tyres. They already have a few hot hatches but true rally heads will love the idea of buying a WRC replica that they can rally competitively.

I think the main issue is that most true Rally Fans are getting on a bit like me - the lack of TV coverage for WRC and it's inaccessibility have severely damaged it IMO. Us of "that age" who wanted to, have already done the Impreza/Focus RS/Evo /MK2 Escort / Sierra Cosworth thing and we are more likely to buy something a little tamer these days.

I'd have not bought a Xsara WRC-alike cos I think the Xsara looked s**t :-P

I think I'd say the same of the C3.
It's a bad car to be making anyway.
If it's any good it'll be out of the budget of the youngsters that will want it.
I'd be more likely to want a prodrive Impreza than a C3 if I fancied burning up quarries and forestry.
They probably want to make a new Saxo vtr with WRC advertising credentials.

We used to have Rallys near us as the roads are 'ideal' - I got caught coming back from seeing a late file at the cinema in Swansea with friends at about 1:30 am and couldn't get up the hill - hundreds of spectators blocking the roads. Wasn't in the mood, so just mowed through them (slowly) and legged it at warp speed with full beams on the rest of the 4 mile stint. They've stopped them all near us now as there were too many complaints from residents. To be honest it's not much fun hearing them revving up at 2-3 in the morning when you can't get to sleep!

Meanwhile, we've got this load of tosh going on regarding the proposed 'Circuit of Wales', for which Welsh Government pulled the plug again, but only after wasting £9m....

"The only infrastructure we've seen so far is the £35k worth of work done to Mr Carrick's mansion in Granchester"...
"The only sports car in evidence is the Aston Martin that he drives around in"
Fair play, he packs a lot in during his 30 second video!:

Up in N Wales the Wales Rally GB is really good.
Theres also a lot of amateur rallying in quarries etc.
Theres also a lot of idiots driving full pelt through the forestry.

Looks more GT1 than rally. Is Rally the Welsh word for Tarmac?

Not a bad thing Marc, I like the natural feel.

Welsh translations can be amusing.
Memorable ones for me over the years.

Gwesty = Hotel
My Mum, Wow this Gwesty is a massive chain they own every hotel here.
N.B. My Mother now speaks Welsh as well as any native.

Araf = Slow
My Friend, Do the RAF own all the roads here?
To be fair we'd just driven past the RAF mountain Training Camp in Capel Curig and a lot of RAF training was going on in the skies above us.

Gwasanathau = Services
My Friend, I'll meet you at the services.
Me, Which one?
My Friend, Gwasanathau
Me, :rofl2: :lol:

:rofl2: Love it - catches a lot people out - many years ago a few of my friends came up with me in the car from down south and were in hysterics as we went through some of the smaller villages on the way to my parents:
Abergwili, Cwmgwili, Llanllwni, Plwmp to name a few.

They're all new to me and I like them, especially Plwmp.

I lived in Bangor for a while as a student and a few years after and picked up a few words as well a bit or pronunciation. Some years prior to that I was taught how to pronounce Llanfair P.G. for a part in a school play and was told how the name was built up from its constituent parts - Llan fair = St Mary, etc.

I am fascinated by languages in general and enjoy finding similarities across the ones I find. I particularly found interesting P-Celt and Q-Celt languages. It's as simple seeing what word for 4 is. French (quatre) and Welsh (pedwar) for example.

Love the way this thread is meandering!

My intriguing similarity is mawr which is big in Welsh and small in Polish. I'm yet to work out why.
Another one I find intetesting is rwan vs nawr. Same word but south and north wales reverse it. Both claim the other is wrong, confused? Me too.

You did well to manage llanfairpg, I can only manage it if it's written down in front of me.
I never noticed the p vs q Celtic link, I'm sure I'll notice it frequently now.
