Hi guys,
This message appeared this afternoon. My C5 is 2010 X7 1.6HDi model. I was pretty sure it has no DPF because of the engine size and I was pretty sure I did read about that somewhere saying only 2.0+ engines have them.
Any ideas on what to do now... only replacement ($$$$$$) ?
Thank you.
Regards.

I'm fairly sure that they do have a FAP/DPF. You may be mixing the information with earlier cars and DMFs (dual mass flywheels) where the 90bhp 2.0l HDi engine had a solid flywheel and the 110bhp 2.0l HDi had a DMF.
How many miles has the car done? Obviously if thought it didn't have a FAP then you've no idea about the Eolys level.

Your car will have one on a diesel X7 for sure. Don't panic, first thing to do is confirm exactly the message (s) you are having and what lights, if any are coming on the dash with the warning. Sometimes it can be a clogged EGR.
As Paul has asked, we really need to know the mileage and the VIN will help too. The additive fluid may just need topping up, so there could be several reasons. it needs getting on a lexia though, which should give you an idea of the filter's status (how blocked it is) and whether it has tried and failed to regenerate (short journeys will prevent this happening). If the filter is blocked, they can be cleaned in situ now by a lot of companies.

Is that the exact message? Seems a little odd.
