Citroen puddle lights

Unread post by elma »

I just came across these citroen logo puddle lamps.

Not my thing really, going for plain white leds, but im sure some of you will like them.

Also available in batman, transormers and well whatever you like really.

The XM had them as standard... Proper puddle lights are handy at night ;)

Especially where I live, we seldom can see much at night. Now if only we had LED street lamps :-D

Actually Summers not bad but in Winter the yard can be a little precarious.

The new LED street light outside my house is excellent... My fears over them were groundless...

It fills my bedroom with what is best described as pale, gentle moonlight :) just enough light to see what I'm doing when I'm up and about at silly o'clock...

Our youngest son maintains and renews street and carriageway lighting - spends huge amounts of time aloft on his cherry-picker. Almost all the replacements are now LED fittings, running at a tiny fraction of previous power usage. Coverage, and lack of unwanted scatter (light pollution) are big plusses. Colour balance from the white LEDs is impressive.

Small Spanish villages acquiring them too, which is nice.

Do you remember when those old, four-sided gas street lamps had their two gas 'mantles' sometimes replaced with a pair of side-by-side 15W pearl pygmy* bulbs, so they retained the look?

* Can I say that now? Or should it be PORG, or....?

PS Those Citroen widgets might be better mounted so they projected their image on to the sides of passing/traffic-jammed cars. Something very Batman about that! 8-)

I most certainly do. There were gas lamps in the road outside my paternal grandparents' house until the early 60s. They fascinated me.

And thus began my life-long love burning things... :rofl2:

There's just no way that will be the projected image on the pavement without using lasers! A serious photoshop me thinks!
The X7 has factory fitted ones too, but I've upgraded these to LEDs and they really do light up the pavement so you can see if you're stepping out into the swimming pool sized pot holes.

There are some similar lasers intended to project various patterns behind the car in fog, Batman being one of them. About £6 from eBay.
