C4P 2007 1.6 HDI Air Con Electrical Schematic

Post by nilrem »

Good morning

My Air Con is not working could someone please direct me to the Electrical Schematic/Drawing - Mr Google directs me to all things A/Con but not specific to the C4P schematic.

Fault finding the system I did find a dry joint on the cooling fan Resister Relay Module located on top and in front of the engine radiator this seems to have cured the non-operation of the cooling fan and the Hi temp alarm...joe

If you've sorted the fan itself out, have you considered that the system needs topping up with refrigerant, either as a result of yearly seepage or a leak? The condenser radiator is usually a prime suspect for a stone chip. If it gets below a certain level the A/C compressor will not engage as a safety feature.

Hi GiveMeABreak
The system does need an evac and topup but I'm still unsure as to the fan's operation when called to operate during A/C demand - An electrical schematic would give me an incite as to the total operation

Q - is there a Citroen block on schematic data, if so is there way's to circumnavigate what may be regarded as propriety info, just ask a dealer and you come up against a brick wall.

If wasn't for site such as this we would be paying top $...joe

Generally, the fan will operate when the A/C is switched on (or with Climate Control engaged). It does this on my X7 even when the car is started from cold - A/C off - no fan. A/C on - fan engages at low speed.

I'll need your VIN if you want a diagram - but I'm waiting for BT to get a grip and install our Fibre service, so may be a slight delay in getting the PDF to you - as curently a snail can do a 100M sprint quicker than I can send an email at present!

What's actually wrong with it?

Unfortunately a schematic will tell you little as it's all ECU controlled. The fan may cycle on and off, or run at low speed, or full speed, depending on the will of the ECU. It shouldn't stop the AC working - although you may get a warning message if the fan doesn't run, and it may cut the AC if it reaches the high pressure cutout. If you want to know more you will need to interrogate it with Diagbox to see what it is thinking...which may or may not help! Ours manages to freeze up the evaporator, but the low temp cut out implies it is working when viewed in diagbox!
