Re: Intresting "fix"
Good old Moleys.
I ran for quite a long time with a pair of mini-Moleys acting as the nipple on the end of the clutch cable on my old Montego. The car was LHD (in the UK) and so there was no chance of one off a scrapper. There were no cables available from the factors which just left the dealer option - ho ho.
I took them off when I scrapped the car. Still have them in my toolbox I think.
EDIT The tyre looks good. Is it a Michelin? Certainly bags of tread there.

As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Re: Intresting "fix"
I found a rear axle brake hose clamped off with a pair of those when doing an MOT, the rear brakes failed.
