Re: MikeT's Dashcam captures
I don't mind the roundabout stuff, think maybe it's a stranger to the area finding his way around but the overtaking in the hatches makes me very upset, we have the A48 Gloucester to Chepstow road which has hatches and double white paint from end to end which is ignored by the commuters despite there being umpteen fatalities over the last few years.

Re: MikeT's Dashcam captures
Have you considered putting it on youtube Mike? It's taking too long to access (and I'm not on Fibre until the end of the week!MikeT wrote:Does anyone else feel they've developed a sixth sense regards other certain roadusers? No, it wasn't the "Out of EU" sticker that troubled me, it was his lack of lane discipline I found unnerving.

That's with a dozen tabs open and YouTube playing. Turned TY off to try and get some sense out of Potatobucket.
No improvement
I think it is all the ads they stuff down the internet tubes.

That's what I was getting, turned off adblock to see if it was blocking the file and then got instantly swamped! Ads are truly the pits.

Re: MikeT's Dashcam captures
Sorry everyone. photobucket is proving a PITA! I only realised the change after uploading and then was distracted trying to learn why it wouldn't embed. Now I know it's intentional.
Trouble is, youtube/google have gotten way too invasive for my liking so I've stopped using them where logins are required. Looking for alternatives....
Agree Gibbo, could be a stranger. That's why I hang back though on a bike I'd be passed before he indicated.

Re: MikeT's Dashcam captures
Video won't even show for me now. Seems the priority is given for continous cycling of ads which is creating a sort of reverse DDOS attack.
What isn't obvious in the video is that how slow and unsure this driver appeared to be and when stuck behind a slow accelerating lorry decided to risk the overtake requiring him to briefly accelerate over the prescribed 40mph (the lorry had acheived 40mph by the time he was alongside it according to my speedo). If I hadn't clipped the video short, you would have seen the lorry (which was obviously fully-laden) having to brake shortly afterwards, presumably because the peugeot driver had settled back into slow and unsure mode once he'd overtaken.

Re: MikeT's Dashcam captures
I've created a vimeo account and am uploading to it now. Will see if they are embeddable in this forum shortly...

Re: MikeT's Dashcam captures
The ability to watch the video certainly, the standard of driving contained within said vid though, not so much

Admin: Does this forum not support vimeo embedding?
At least these marauding hooligans show some semblance of road-awareness.
And fair's fair, I can admit my own mistakes. I forgot to turn off the cloaking device in time.

Not at present Mike (and not too sure if it ever will be) - YouTube currently as it is the most used on the planet.

Ok, was hoping it would be trivial to add. I do believe there is a phpbb extension to support imbedding video from a number of alternative hosting sites.
