That'll be good for the life of the car now!
What about a header tank made of the same stuff and in the same way Alasdair?

These are the V6 parts that you mentioned splitting in your reply about our water leak Jim? Certainly not the best choice of materials for cooling system components, though it seems manufacturers are doing this more and more lately so maybe PSA were just ahead of the game again lol

Re: New Es9j v.6 "Swirl Pot"
The "problem" is the way in which they are jointed, expansion of a plastic/welded joint which is harder than the main body. Stress splits them.
Yes Jim, assuming this is good (it needs a bead on the pipes to prevent slipping and a bit of a clean up on the welds) I will ask the guy to make a header tank as well.

Re: New Es9j v.6 "Swirl Pot"
to be honest any local "metal fabricators" could do it from a pattern.....

Re: New Es9j v.6 "Swirl Pot"
Might I suggest (for next time) that a barb could have been turned on the pipes before welding?

He has put a wire "ring" (and tack welded it) on the pipes since the photos.
