C8 sliding door lubrication

Unread post by ozfish1969 »

Whats the best way to lubricate the runners on a C8 electric door.

One of my doors, the one used the most, has got a bit juddery and I would suspect it needs to be lubricated to run a bit smoother.

My concern would be that if I were to grease the runners surely they would attract dirt etc which would stick to the grease.

Any suggestions ?

I'm not sure but I have a new C8 door carriage here and it looks as though the wheels it runs on are nylon/plastic so oil shouldn't be used, maybe a splash of soapy water.

If you should need a door carriage, depending on which side and a check on the part numbers, as I say, there's a new one here for a lot less than the dealer price.

The heavy haulage guys use silicone grease on their curtain rails. Perhaps the silicone spray would be better as dirt wont stick to it.

Silicone spray did the job a treat.
