Had trouble MOTing my 2003 Citroen Relay because the ABS light is on - which is annoying because it doesn't even have ABS brakes!
Anyone tech -headed enough to know what's going on - and how to get rid of the stupid thing? Is there a fuse I can pull?

Re: Non ABS Relay/ Boxer has ABS light on!!
If it 100% doesn't have ABS brakes then just pull the bulb out. If it had ABS but its not working there's other ways they can tell other than the presence (or not) of the light so would need fixing to gain the test.
Is it definitely the ABS light & not something daft like maybe water in fuel warning been misinterpreted? The person doing the MoT should have the full data of the vehicle available on the screen during the test and this would surely have confirmed no ABS present?

Re: Non ABS Relay/ Boxer has ABS light on!!
Yep, the computer apparently now "knows" whether the vehicle was originally fitted with ABS.
This has proven a right pain for some early Saab 9000 owners as the ABS blocks on them are prone to failure, and they're now like gold dust. Usual mod there was to just totally delete all trace of the car ever having had ABS. Cars which have had this done ten plus years ago are now failing the MOT because the computer says no. It's like a cat or DPF - if the car was originally equipped with it, its absence constitutes a reason to fail the car.
If it is just a spurious warning light due to a gremlin (my non-ABS Xantia would occasionally blink the light during starting), that should not be an issue at the MOT as it relates to a system not fitted. Removing the bulb is a perfectly valid approach there I reckon, though a BSI reset (does that apply to vans too?) may well resolve it.
I may be well wide of the mark, but wouldn't ABS have been standard by 2003? Can't have been far off.
