Temperature Gauge no worky! AX MK1

My girlfriend has an AX MK1 1.4 TZS, and the temperature gauge has packed in. I've been in the engine bay a few times and after fiddling with wires here and there and it starts working, only to fail again after a few trips, so I know its a loose connection somewhere.
Can anyone tell me where the temp sensor is?

Standing in front of engine - at RHS on engine cylinder head - yoy have the large top coolant hose running to the radiator.
Exactly where this large hose is attached - you have the thermostat housing - wherein you should find a sensor fitted.
