Xantia 2 front windows relay

Post by citroenxm »

Hi all..

Does anyone know which relay on S2 xantias is the power feed for the front electric windows..

Imvestigating non functioning front windows reveal a loss of 12v direct to the motor from either the fuse or relay.. which ever is dead.. but i cant do further tests till i know which one it is..

Cheers

Have you got the wiring diagrams Paul? If not I can supply them but not right now obviously...

If you have the diagrams then explain where precisely you have lost 12v and I'll trace it back for you...

It'll be the usual broken loom issue I'm sure...

Hi jim.. i whatsapped the diagram to you the other day. If you look back.. the next task is to probe the harness.. ive been in between the door and car and so far its still attached.. its strange because both front windows are out and there is power at F27 which feeds the two motors and the relay

Paul, can't now as I'm not at home but will as soon as I can...

I missed the fact you'd sent the diagram to me... My mind was on many other things last week as you may have gathered...

Further traces show continuity in the cable that goes under the carpet under the drivers feet.. so the break if further back (ie not in the door to pillar link) .. ive lost its route now though the is a bunch of pink wires that go up at the back of the centre console.. i just need to find which one of those it is...

Paul, from F27 in the cabin fusebox the supply runs along the loom that runs across the dash to the interconnect plug in the driver's footwell and then through the doorjamb to Pin 5 on the drive motors... There appear to be no splices in the way. It feeds pin 5 on both driver's and passenger's motors...

Check also that F30 is good as this operates relay 6021 (cabin fusebox relay set below) and this in turn feeds a supply via F27 again to Pins 4 on the drive motors. Relay 6021 will be operated all the time the ignition is switched on. If this relay is not operating or feeding to Pins 4 on the motors then this might account for your problem too..

With the ignition on, pull F30 and ensure you can hear a relay click off to identify it and then you can do some checks around its base..

Pin 3 of Relay 6021 is a good place to check for a supply from F27 further down the loom.

You could link Pins 3 to 5 of Relay 6021 to eliminate it.

I'm going off-line now but hope this may help you... Come back for more advice as required but note I can't always respond immediately. You will hear nothing more of me today... Time to eat, wind-down and go to bed...
