I know I’ve already responded to this but, not for the first time, it wasn’t posted. Is it just me this keeps happening to?
I‘d be interested in the answer myself IF there’s some benefit, so what did you have in mind - & why?
All that said, you might just be better off asking on the Pug forum, whether they’ll fit a 205, simply because someone is more likely to have a straight answer.

Not 100% sure on this but a couple of posts I thought I made are not in fact there. Whether this is a forum glitch or I just typed them out and got distracted before hitting "post" I couldn't say for sure, what with the kids nicking the laptop off and also me rushing off to do bits on the cars & bike when I get a moment.van ordinaire wrote:I know I’ve already responded to this but, not for the first time, it wasn’t posted. Does make me wonder now though if I am losing the plot as much as I feared haha, maybe there is something going on forum-wise that could allow me to regain at least partial belief in my sanity

Not aware of any forum issues but I frequently lose posts by moving on to the next thread and omitting to hit the "Submit" button.
Sometimes it is possible to recover it if done quickly by using the back button.
Seems to be an element of luck involve with that though

if you have the correct brake discs and correct brake caliper pen holes should be a straight fit.

For my part, I'm not sure that helps - or, it may be that I don't understand. If you're swapping parts between models how can they be the correct ones? Or are you saying the calipers should be fitted with their own discs?jsp wrote:if you have the correct brake discs and correct brake caliper pen holes should be a straight fit.

Re: 206 calipers on c15
In fairness, it's not only this forum on (with?) which I have this problem but the difficulty is, all too often, you will not be aware you have (had) a problem until returning to the thread you find the post you know you composed isn't there.myglaren wrote:Not aware of any forum issues but I frequently lose posts by moving on to the next thread and omitting to hit the "Submit" button.

A different facet/manifestation or, possibly, an associated problem is that there seems to be a window of opportunity in which to post, so after a while (whether it's because you were distracted & return later or, even, if you just take too long*) when you hit "submit" you're told you have to log on to post - & in so doing, you will lose what you've "written"! When I think there's a danger of that, assuming I remember, I highlight & copy the post, then, if I am required to log on again, when I return to the thread, I can simply paste it into the box. A development of this is, when I am composing a post of any length (e.g. my blog) I draft it as a Word document - & copy & paste it. Tedious - but better than the alternative! * in fact, this is a case in point, so will copy it before attempting to submit it!

Re: 206 calipers on c15
I've not experienced the logging out issue, although if I do leave a post "unsubmitted" while I get distracted & then return and hit the button I do occasionally get a "submitted form invalid" message. In that case though the post doesn't vanish and I can simply resubmit and it posts just fine.
Also in response to Steve/myglaren, I frequently make use of the back (and forward) buttons to recover posts after my badly positioned touchpad clicks me off the page inadvertently while typing. I find it works more reliably on some forums than others, this one being a good one as far as not losing ones efforts.
I do agree it's likely to just be me at fault not submitting the message while distracted rather than an actual problem, just thought it worth throwing out there in case it sounded familiar to anyone else on here. That said, I do appear to have some missing PM's from both my inbox and sent folders (an entire conversation in fact, save for one reply, that I had regarding an engine for our Xantia has vanished and not sure whether the vendor still has said messages either, therefore not sure if they still have our address/contact number)
I just know I wouldn't have deleted those from my inbox, and it's only 20% full anyway (I know I would have left it till it "overflowed" before deleting messages lol)
EDIT- just checking back, the message still in my sent folder is indeed our contact details so I'm happy with that now gets me wondering about my own sanity now, I really do recall more than 1 PM being sent on the subject... perhaps we discussed the rest of the details in the wanted thread lol *hides in loft for fear of nice men in white coats

Re: 206 calipers on c15
One thing worth noting with the pms is that if you delete older messages from a conversation they will not be retained in the after script of the later messages. I fell foul of this a while ago cleaning up my inbox as I deleted all the messages but the most recent one from a conversation. I expected the older messages to still appear under the latest one but they do not and I lost some information about my car that I would have liked to keep.

Re: 206 calipers on c15
C15 has 3 stud hubs doesnt it? If so then 206 calipers won't fit, most are for vented discs except the most basic cooking models, and even they aren't worth the hassle.
4 stud should fit, they sometimes used the same calipers fitted to 106/saxo and the like and I know they're all interchangeable! Theres a second caliper listed on servicebox but the mounting isn't immediately obvious.

Early (i.e. "pig nosed" Visas were 3 bolt but by the time the C15 came out I'm pretty sure that Visas were 4 bolt but, in any event C15's have 205 struts & hubs, not Visa (except the GTi).chinkostu wrote:C15 has 3 stud hubs doesnt it? Calipers of PSA are used under many PSA cars. The same caliper may be used under different cars. If you have a 4 hole bolts wheels most calipers with a 4bolt will fit.van ordinaire wrote:For my part, I'm not sure that helps - or, it may be that I don't understand. That's helpful - now, what, if any, ventilated discs will fit a C15 (& will they need their own callipers, if only to accomodate the greater thickness)?

306? 406? C4 try these should be a straight fit. I am not sure about the wheels but, mostly they should fit unless you go extreme and fit 262mm discs.

Re: 206 calipers on c15
Dank U.
If these discs will work with the original calipers, I'll think about it for the next pad change.
If they need to be fitted with there own calipers, & I'm still not sure about that, it's a rather longer term thing.
Since my original post I have confirmed that some 205's have ventilated discs, & they have same struts/hubs but, of course, the later model ones might be more readily available now.
