Citroen Fault Code P2566

Post by driver in despair »

Hi guys, I'm after some advice. Just had my C4 VTR+ in for a diagnostic check at Citroen after my car started playing up.
The technician gave me a copy of the report which stated: P2566 Turbo Position Copy Signal. I tried to ask him to explain but he said he would give me a ring as he was snowed under with work.
So now I have a faulty car but no idea as yet how much its going to cost or indeed, what the actual fault code means.

I was hoping someone on this forum would be able to shed some light on this for me.
Any information or advice given would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andy

Welcome along!

What engine are we talking about here? 1.6 or 2.0 HDi? On the 1.6 AFAIK there is no electric reference to the turbo, but there is to the operating solenoid I think. On the 2.0 there is position feedback from the turbo. Which engine it is may have a bearing on how much it costs to repair.....!

Sorry Richard, I failed to mention it was the 1.6 engine.

Probably the solenoid then. There is more than one type (and price!) - post up the VIN and I'll look the price up. It's in a bit of an awkward location down the back of the engine, but probably not too bad to change on a lift. Shouldn't be too expensive.

Part no is 037035, £44.08 Fitting time is only 0.7 hours, so it won't break the bank if it does need to be replaced. However, there doesn't appear to be any feed back from the valve, so not sure what is going on there.... perhaps the fault or code is something else.... What symptoms? The vanes on these turbos can gum up - check you can push down the actuator on the front of the turbo easily, and that it returns quickly.
