After a small absence im back. Not full time but enough to report on the current situation..
Ive been handed a Xantia HDi 110 Exclusive to sort out.
Car was bought for 150 quid. On a W plate.. in silver. . With slightly rarer cream leather and suede leather trim door cards. Pictures to follow when ive taken them.
Its NOT mine.
So. What do we have. Car had about 2 weeks mot. Things that worked things that don't.
Working.
Headlight washers
ABS
Central locking but micro switchs broke in fobs
Blower works
Rear windows work
Front seat heaters work but drivers lower phnematic lumber doesnt only the upper
Things that dont or needs looking at.
Front windows dont work but switchs light up
Fuel guage doesnt read
Air con doesnt work
Aux derv heater doesnt work
Wipers only work on max speed its not the window sensor
And heres the really strange one.. the B pillar interior lamps dont work on open door BUT the foot well illuminations do (which work with the B pillar lamps) however switch the B pillar lamps to ON they come on.. so.. whats going on there then.
Needs front spheres
Wish bone P Bushs shot. well.. have play and need changing. .
So.. fuel guage is sorted the float is or was the wrong shape so wasnt sitting on the fuel correctly.. thats done.
Other notes. Its been welded on the outer rear sills but not nicely.
Rear pipes need closer inspection soon for long term life.
Rear spheres are ok.
Tyres are good
150k on it. My nice friendly mot man has given me an mot and i need to look at sorting rear pipes soon.

Welcome back. The place hasn't been the same without you.
On the B pillar lights I would check the switches. On my silver Xantia they were burnt. They worked when switched to on (as only one contact was burnt), but when set to door they did not work (both contacts burnt). That was why I got a couple off you a couple of years ago.

Re: Hi.......................... im back......
When you say the switches, do you mean the switches on the light unit themselves or the door switches?

The switches on the light unit itself. They are three position. I had them fail some time back, and it was because the 'door' position contacts were blackened.

Thanks, I'll have a look at mine, although I'm sure they only have 'on' or 'door'

Re: Hi.......................... im back......
Sorry (thinking about switches in my company van), but I do know that, on my Xantia, the 'door' position did have both contacts blackened, and had generated enough heat to distort some plastic.citroenxm wrote:They are NOT three position.. yur the second person to say this james they are most deafenatly not three position.. its door or on...Hell Razor5543 wrote:The switches on the light unit itself. Are they in line with the floor illumination or seperate. The floor ones work.. the pillar lights work when switched to on..CitroJim wrote:Welcome back Paul![]()

QRT is an abbreviation from the days of Morse Code, if my memory is correct.
