Bosch produce a windscreen wiper interval delay timer, the delay for which is variable between 0.5 and 20 seconds, and where the delay time is selected by simply flicking to Intermittent Wipe twice, at an interval the driver chooses.
The Bosch device is 0 986 335 058, often known as Relay 99, and has been fitted to lots of recentish vehicles to replace the OE fixed-interval or other timer relay.
Does anyone have any experience in using this on Citroen, or know of a PSA model where this (or similar) is already fitted?
A bit of info here:
http://wiki.seloc.org/a/Wiper_Variable_intermittent
with some other sites making cross-reference to Citroen part numbers 6555 11, 6555 34 and 95 495 006 - none of which are recognised on service.citroen.

Re: 'Programmable' wiper timer delay
6555 34 comes up on service Citroen Chris - but no further details and no pricing -
Most of the PSA OE part numbers (95 495 006) for example that are referred to from the Bosch 0 986 335 058 code - refer back to this same Bosch code. I suspect it would have to be an older part given the lack of information on it.

Re: 'Programmable' wiper timer delay
Thanks, Marc. Went back to serv.cit. and searched for 655534 (no part found, any model) and 6555 34 (just finding lots of 6555.... but nothing relevant.
Varipus website say those part numbers above are OE numbers for the Bosch item, but my real question is - has anyone any experience of using this clever relay on our cars, in place of the standard one?
Numerous Land Rover and other sites talk about it as a simple plug-in replacement for their fixed-interval timer relays.

Re: 'Programmable' wiper timer delay
It's certain to be suitable only for pre-CAN bus cars as the link references mid 90s VW Golfs.

Re: 'Programmable' wiper timer delay
Am thinking of our '96 XM, which has variable wiper delay, but only between 4 and 15 seconds. The Bosch item offers up to 20 secs, which I'd hope to be able to extend (to 40 or 60 secs). I could build something from scratch, but would prefer to do it with a standard part, if possible.

The Vellemann one is good, and cheaper.

Re: 'Programmable' wiper timer delay
I know this little kit well, having put together several over the years, usually with a 6-way rotary switch with added resistors, to give wipe intervals of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 & 60 secs.
I liked the idea of the Bosch 'memory' relay, especially if it turns out to be a plug-in item.

Re: 'Programmable' wiper timer delay
I like the sound of this bit of kit (must be almost as good as the infinitely variable set up on P6 Rovers!
) as the intermittant's failed on the C15 (came out in sympathy with the Cadillac) & I suppose it could be the relay assuming, of course, it employs that system, so i'd be happy to fit one just to see what happens. First find a breaker's yard, then a suitable donor with any relays left.
