Peugeot 305 market place

Post by 2011dandd »

Right there's very few of these about and sourcing parts is by no means easy. Thought I would start this thread as one place to post what ever you may have for a 305 for sale or what you may need for your 305.

I personally need a few bits but the old girl is going well so at this stage it's purely cosmetic.

That said:
Wanted a tailgate. Any colour but solid.

Aiming high wanting a solid tailgate mate. You'll be lucky to find a rotten one, me thinks, but good luck. The bottom of the doors and tailgate are usually the first to go. Having owned mine for 17 years +/- I've taken the cards off every year and cleaned and squirted 3 in 1 along the drain channels. I'm not sure if that's OCD or a bit anal, but it works so I shall keep my OCD and anality coz I'm determined to get free road tax. Only 11 years to go.

I hear there are quite a lot of 305s still running about in Egypt. Less rot but more dents.

I'll get me coat.

If anyone with a 305 is in need of bits I'm pretty sure I can get my grubby little mitts on a couple of vans that a farmer has had from new. They've been sitting for quite a while so I don't know yet what condition they are in. Dandd do you still need a tail gate?

Oh no, does this herald the beginning of the end for the Xantia before I've even received the replacement engine let alone driven the poor thing? You're a fair distance from us but I would love to know what happens with these potential vans & whether either is saveable... One of the vehicles on my low-budget automotive "bucket list"...

I think they are only good for parts. Hopefully going to have a look this week.

Bugger :( at least that means I'm unlikely to get earache about the turnover rate I seem to have with projects haha. Do please let me know what they are like and post some pics please though just in case I feel a bit brave (suicidal?) haha cheers

Me too, although I have heard they were thinking of reintroducing a 40 year rolling cutoff. How true I don't know but it'd be good if they do/have.

40 years rolling? :) bloody great, had I kept the dolly sprint auto or the aggro sdl they both would've been exempt, 2016 and this year respectively! :rofl2:

The sprint auto was actually faster than the manual to 60, and when I owned mine there were apparently 47 left taxed/sorn...

Went to see SOME 305's at the weekend. Three to be precise. Two vans and an estate. As I thought earlier, only good for parts. Bought a van, and a friend is picking it up and taking it to his unit to strip. If anyone is after anything for one of these amazing machines, total bias on my part, let me know. I'll have a bit more info next week. Will get some pics up as soon as I get them out of the camera. The seller also has an A reg SD Rover Vitesse in a barn, genuine barn find, with about 50,000 on the clock, also a Mini pickup, 2 Mk2 1600E Cortina's and a Mk3 2000 Auto Cortina amongst about 50 International Harvester tractors. More news as soon as I can, but not about the tractors.
