605 alarm

Unread post by PC2CV »

Im in the process of collecting a 1995 peugeot 605 i have bought

I plan to drive it home tommorow but there is a problem with the alarm, it goes off when the battery is reconnected

The seperate fob for the alarm has long been lost unfortunately

Is there any way to disable the alarm on these old 605s?

Is it an original version or a face-lift car?

Its a facelift car
I see a key barrel under the bonnet, apparently that is related to the alarm.
It has 7 wires coming out, but all are white

On Citroens of that vintage, if you switch on the ignition within a few seconds of connecting the battery, the alarm is usually silenced.

The switch you found under the bonnet is the alarm override, I don't suppose you have a key that fits?

I looked on SEDRE to find which fuses might stop the alarm, but it does not seem to admit that an alarm was fitted to the 605.

Got it going after some playing around with the battery and leaving the door open before reconnecting it.

Here it is, i think a few members on here have owned it in the past:
