BIG French Show Weekend 15th/16th JULY

Post by Stickyfinger »

As many will know, the weekend of the 15/16th JULY is the date of two big shows for French Car Owners.

Sat.............15th............. French Car Show : Donington Park :
Sat/Sun......15th/16th.....Citroen Car Club Nationals : Abbots Rippon

The Pure Citroen Club will be attending with a stand @ Donington and then many of those members will be travelling down to the CCC nationals for the Sunday bringing their selection of cars (not all but most) cars to swell the ranks at the CCC show. As we know the CCC nats is now normally very short of the more modern cars.

Pure Citroen have a dedicated stand area as they did last year at the Castle Combe venue where they won "Spirit of the Show" award with a great line up of cars both Modern and Classic.

Who is/would like to attend both shows ? Classics and Modern are both welcome from old to new, the more the mix the better.

A few of us are already planning on attending both shows. Parade Laps and Track Time (PC club drivers only so no nutters to cope with) are booked, on stand H-Van catering etc as well as the fantastic facilities @ Donington like the F1 museum etc. Lots of Trade stands (not all MaxPower stuff :)) and really nice hospitably from the good people hosting us from Pure Citroen.

(Note: track time is extra to the show entry to Donington which is only £20)

Feel free to add to the thread if you are coming to both or either.
BOTH would be a Great Car Weekend for any French Car owner, diversity is after all the spirit of the French Car Forum in the same way as Pure Citroen, it would be nice to add this to both shows.

I could be tempted to do both too... I must do my year planner this weekend to see what I'm doing in 2107.

I'm also tempted to perhaps do both... can I get track time in a remapped Berlingo?

Now now Jim :) ......not really true, there are cars there that will blow your mind with what so of the young lads do/skills :.

Track time, why not ?.....Donington is a GREAT track as well. There are open sessions but there is also a Pure Citroen "Closed" session = safer as everybody knows the other drivers.

I am interested in both but I won't confirm either till nearer the time.
July is a busy month for Jap car show meets too (Japshow at Silverstone is the week before and Simply Jap at Bealieu is two weekends after - I need some time that month to actually get cars back on the road/ready to go to shows  )
The jap shows are guaranteed to have good numbers and variety, but not sure which my prelude club will end up going too...

I'm taking the XM to the French Car Show and probably the National. Had forgotten they're the same weekend.
