Xantia 90 to 110 front brake conversion...

Post by HDI »

My X2 SX 110 was written off in a collision, as I'd only just put new front pads and discs on it I decided to try and fit the 110's front brakes onto my current LX 90 daily driver. The 90's have much smaller front discs and calipers.
Visually it looked like a direct swap but when trying the 110 discs on the 90 I discovered they won't clear the hub carrier at the back of the disc. From what I've deduced it's the hub that's different between the 90 and 110. Not wanting the hassle of removing and fitting the hubs I'm knocking up some spacers to fit between the disc and hub to give the correct clearance. The caliper fit's fine.
Thought it might help someone out who's contemplating the same conversion.
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(

Thought the 110/v6/tct hubs and carriers had different bolt spacing too. didn't think they were a straight swap.

288mm correct?

Bolt spacing is the same on 90 & 110 HDI, as is caliper bolt location. I haven't measured disc O.D. but 288 sounds about right.

I'm surprised they are not interchangeable, I always thought any discs from any Xantia were interchangeable so long as you swapped the calliper mount. Since yours are the same year I guess thats really not the case.

Strange. How big a spacer did you need?

About 5mm. I'm going to turn off the part from an old disc, the bit that sits against the hub. Will save alot of work, being already the correct size, bolt holes etc.
