citroen 1.4i starting prolems
My citroen 1.4i with bosch monopoint injection has running and starting problems when warm. it starts and runs perfectly from cold but as it warms up it has a severe flat spot when accelerating to the point that when it stalls you can't start it at all. if you leave it to go cold its fine and runs ok. I have changed the carb body but it still has the problem. my thought is to change the temp sensor. This seems to be a common problem with this model can anyone help? i do have a spare ecu to try

Hi and welcome to the Forum.
It would help if you said what model, engine and year your car is.

I guess it will either be a saxo, xsara or AX with a TU engine?
Have you checked the valve clearances ?

Re: citroen 1.4i starting prolems
HI marc, thanks for responding the vehicle is a 1995 ZX reflex 1.4i its been excellent for the last 10 years maintained well no faults until about § months ago and its been a little pig. All the normal checks have been made on connections, etc valve clearences.
When you start from cold it starts after a couple of turns and drives well until it gets warm and there a god almighty flat spot that if you don't catch it it stalls. when that happens its very difficult to start again and aften flattens the battery. Leave it alone for an hour or so and you can start it immediately and drive away.
During cold mornings i can start it up and leave it on tickover to warm up, after 15 20 mins it dies and you can't start it again until it goes cold again.
When you are driving and the flat spot is begining to emerge you can feather the throttle and increase the revs very slowerly up the rev range, but snap the thottle open wide and it bites you and just dies which is dangerous at junctions. The monopoint carb body was changed but was exactly the same I am at wits end with it and would be grateful of any suggestions.
Regards Rob

That info will certainly help some of the members I would expect Rob. Do you have the VIN? I'll be able to list the engine type and other components from this just to assist others with the correct engine type etc.?

OK, so it's a 1993 ZX Reflex 5 Door Saloon, with the TU3MC Petrol Injection Engine, with 5 speed manual box, and Bosch Injection with no coded alarm or immobiliser.
