how do I enter 0952 radio code xantia

Unread post by disastermaster »

I am having real problems entering the radio code in my 96 xantia 1.9d
The radio is the type with 6 preset buttons and the display is above the cassette department. I can get the radio to display "code". What is the correct way of entering the code 0952? I tried pressing the preset button 1 a few times to get it to display 0 but each time I pressed it the display showed 1111 which was no good! I then read on this forum that you must enter the code by pressing the relative key
ie. if your code was 2435 your would press preset button 2 then button 4 etc, I cant do this as there is no button 9 or 0 !!!! So what do I do?

I have the same stereo as yours. Clarion 2030. As the other units are manufactured by Blaupunkt it has a different way of CODE entry.
From the manual:
switch the radio ON. The display read CODE
You will need to press the coresponding numbered button to input the code. For code 3241 press station preset buttons 3,2,4 and 1. The unit will then start working.
This leads me to believe you either have a completely different main unit (unlikely) or have been told/given the wrong code (frequent occurence on eBay etc).

Use button 1. keep pressing it until the first number appears correctly on the display. Repeat with buttons 2-4 for the other digits. Press 6 (I think - it might be the button next to it) to confirm the code. That's it.

to both replies, the code that I got was from a main agent.
As I pointed out if I keep pressing button one to get to the right code number the full disply fills up 1,1,1,1,
Still stuck !!!!!

.
You could always ring said agent and ask him how you get that code in?

On Blaupunkts you turn the radio on. The display reads CODE.
For code 2435, you press preset 1 two times, pre-set 2 - 4 times, pre-set 3 - 3 times, preset 4 - 5 times. Then press preset 6 to confirm the entry. I assume if a code digit is 0, you don't press the relevant preset.

Code for that model can only have numbers from 1 to 6, no zero's and nothing higher than 6, you must have the wrong code.

If you want the figure 4 in the code, you have to press channel preset number 4 in the correct sequence.
You don't get a four by pressing the number 1 preset four times, if you do that you get four 1's as you are now aware.
The figures of the code corespond to the numbers of the preset buttons, there are no presets numbered "0" and there are none higher than "6" therefore your code can only consist of figures 1 to 6 and nothing else.
If your code was 4466 you would press button 4 twice then button 6 twice.
If your code was 4646 you would press button 4 once then 6 once then 4 once then 6 again for the last figure.
This radio can't have a code with a "0" or a "9" in it, there isn't any way to input a "0" or a "9", you have not got the correct code.

hi
if it's like my clarion
you press 1 then go up or down the numbers by pressing seek buttons got little arrows on them do this till the right number appears
then press 1 again so on so on till all the code is in then press 1 again you get a bleep and it all comes to life hopefully
if it is a clarion and you get it wrong first time you have to wait a minute before you can try again with the ignition on
twice wrong 2 mins 3 times wrong 3mins etc
if it's a blaupunkt ain't got a clue

You definitely should NOT have to repeatedly press the number 1 button. If your display is ABOVE the cassette lid you have the 2030 model. In that case CODE will be using digits up to 6 and no zero. There is the odd chance that the the standard unit from your car has been replaced at some point. If it's a base spec to LX it's definitely 2030, if it's SX or VSX and the display is ABOVE the casette lid the stereo has been changed. In which case I'm only able to advise you to get another one.
