I have a 607 hdi 2003 (diesel) that refuses to start. I was told by a mechanic to replace the engine but it still refuses to start. However, if you introduce fuel directly the car starts well.
I had it put on Peugeot Planet (clone) scanner. After entering the VIN, the green light on the scanner goes off and it fails to communicate with the car, so I am assuming the scanner might be bad. I ordered a new scanner (OBDLink LX) from ScanTool and will test it out once it arrives.
In the meantime does anyone know how to sort this out? The car has been stuck in the garage for over 9 months. Please, I really need your help.

When you say "if you introduce fuel directly...", where on the system are you doing this?
Will help with diagnosis.

Hi Chris,
When fuel is introduced directly into the intake manifold, the car starts and can run for about 9mins before going off. However, without the heater plug, the car starts and can run without going off. Once the heater plug is connected, it can only start and run for about 9mins before going off.

I would suspect that the HP pump is not producing enough pressure at cranking speed to open the injectors.
I hope that the scanner you have ordered cash read parameters from the injection ECU, you need some more data to work with.
