For Citroen owners of cats
Hi ,I am sometimes caught in the rain when my owners let me out. What can they do or fit that will tell them I am on the back door step and that I want to come in. The back door is a full height double glazed unit. ??????

Re: For Citroen owners of cats
Where my god-family live their back door is a full height double glazed door, and they also have a cat flap through it (but I would not be surprised if the door was made with it).

Re: For Citroen owners of cats
I knocked a cat flap through the wall of my house many years ago when I had cats... Very good it proved to be too... A good club hammer and cold chisel will soon see it done...
If you only want your cat admitted these are some clever ones that read an RFID tag on the cat. I guess your posh main-operated one does that Alasdair?
Only problem with that one is the cats may live in fear of a power cut

Re: For Citroen owners of cats
Place I work fits those to the doors we make.
Fitting to a full glass door would be an expensive option unless the unit were float glass as the toughened glass would be a custom job.
There was a bit of confusion late last year with one, fitted to the wrong door so the cat's RFID chip would never be able to open it

Thank"s Guy's for that input, I might try and get a pet friendly PIR that would sound a tune when He came close to the back door.

Re: RE: Re: For Citroen owners of cats
With a cat? You'd go insane very quickly... mine love to hang around in the back garden and often come up to the patio doors with no intention off coming in. If I had a tuneful PIR that sounded every time they went off, I'd have been sectioned by now.renagade wrote:Thank"s Guy's for that input, I might try and get a pet friendly PIR that would sound a tune when He came close to the back door.

You mean you haven't? I thought all Citroen owners were sectioned as part of the induction process.

Hi Guy's and Gal's
Your not wrong all my friends think that I should be sectioned just for owning a Citroen. I am 67 and have had the lot, 2CV, Dyan, Ami, BX, CX, 3X DS manual and semi auto (now there is a car the DS with the semi-auto gearbox ) if you could drive one of those you were a professional, ha well I let my DS go 8 years ago and do miss it.

My friends think the same about me but also cite several other good reasons too, none of which are connected with Citroen ownershiprenagade wrote:Your not wrong all my friends think that I should be sectioned just for owning a Citroen..

Re: For Citroen owners of cats
love the idea of the pir playing a tune, but cats being cats, they would just set it of for a little attention, or their version of knock and run! Our cat would much rateh hide under the bushes until one of us has come through the door then wonder over through the open door than use the cat flap, Far too soft and opened it for her too many times as she is getting older, did it once, now if she see's me when out, its everytime 4 years later!

That pet porte has battery backup for just such eventualitiesCitroJim wrote:If you only want your cat admitted these are some clever ones that read an RFID tag on the cat. I guess your posh main-operated one does that Alasdair?

(also ensures that it doesn't 'forget'who your cat is in comparison with others!)
It reads the cat microchip.

Re: For Citroen owners of cats
We have three cat flaps, one from the kitchen to the hall, another from the hall to the porch and the final one from the porch to the garden.
Fitting them in the wall is not an option here Jim we have 18" thick flint walls!
