C5 hpi gear box cables

Post by WidowmakerUK »

Just a question that I know some member might be able to help with.

One of the cables have gone very tight across the gate of the gear box, I have popped the cable from the box and can move the linkage freely there so it is the cable.
As a rare car now I am stuck in finding a new set of cables for it or second hand ones.

The car is a c5 hpi exclusive estate 2003 2.0l it's the rare petrol version.
Does any one know if any other cable will make as a replacement for it, I am really stuck now as I live in a remote area.

Have you had a look on ebay? Not sure if the same as petrol model. Surely a Citroen main dealer can help with information or spare parts.

I recently bought some cables for my Synergie. I got them from EuroCarCare near Derby. Not cheap but excellent service. If you post your vin number someone should be able to give you the exact part number for the cables.

Thanks guys I have managed to get a set from Peugeot main dealer they was not cheap.
Just in the process of taking the old cables out now and have had to remove the cat to get the heat sheilding out to remove the remote box and cables.

Eurocarcare does not have the cables I phoned them this morning and Citroen no long have them in stock.

For anyone else who might have this issue the remote box is the same as the 408 but the that cables are a fraction longer but that's no issue as there's plent of space to loose 1/2inch of cable.

Mister Auto doesn't enjoy the best of reputations but should be better placed to stock the required cables.

These cables for the c5 hpi are very rare now and I could not locate any second hand ones, I was forced to buy new ones.
They have been upgraded and you need the remote box cables and a new bracket that bolts to the gear box.

They was not cheap and cost me £307.73 in total, but they should now out live the car.
