Two problems with 2011 C4

Post by Cutac »

Hello!

I've got a 1.4 VTi with 82000 km's on the clock and I've got two problems.
First one is windscreen washer - it's too weak. I've cleaned nozzles and hoses, but no difference. Any "normal" clogging for new c4's or Citroen's washer system? Or just a failing pump?

Second is a bit more complex. There's a squeak in idle coming from the engine compartment. It's coming from accessory belt(or components) because it stops when A/C is switched on.
I've fitted new belt and water pump, but no difference. Pulley bearings, tensioner, is this an usual problem?

Happy holidays! :)

Certified dealer.
Their diagnose was water pump and I've believed them. Since it's not gone, but they are still persistent it's water pump, I'll have it changed again under warranty.

I've read somewhere that there are two types of water pump for VTi. One with plastic and one with aluminium body. The first one is faulty because plastic body expands under higher temperatures and allegedly something starts rubbing on it. Probably belt, but it doesn't really sound right.
My best bet are pulley bearings or alternator.
There's a slight 'frrr' sound when revs return to idle, most probably alternator bearing or even assembly itself.
