Xantia Suspension Suspicion

Unread post by Saraphee »

I have a suspicion that something is wrong. Seems fine driving along, does citrobics like a good 'un.

However when on full lock, or coming acutely from a steep down slope onto the level it seems that the front end rises quickly and then falls back to normal as soon as lock is off or level reached.

Any ideas please?

Not sure how much she rises at the front but it is normal on the hydraulic C5s I've had for the front to rise slightly when turning left or right at a junction for example. More noticeable when the wheel is turned when stationary. I believe it raises to allow better clearance for the wheel. Always been the case on my past 3 C5s and XMs too if I recall.

They all do that :-D

Certainly my Xantia has always done the same and the reason as I understand it from previous posts on the forum is to do with the geometry of the front suspension when on full lock.

Don't worry about it.

Agreed, they all do indeed do that... At least, all the ones I've had do/did :)
